The retro-looking logo, USA Today‘s For the Win blog points out, was based off of old logos, but that specific design hadn’t been used before. The logo, according to the Baseball Hall of Fame and the White Sox’s own website, didn’t make its first appearance until 1990, with the team officially adopting it in 1991. The movie opens in 1986, with Eazy-E sporting a black White Sox hat with the intersecting-letters “Sox” logo, which the team didn’t adopt until the ‘ 90s.

As moviegoers checked out Straight Outta Compton this weekend, boosting its domestic box-office gross to $60.2 million, some eagle-eyed baseball fans noticed a blooper in the film’s opening scene.
